On June 27th 2025, CDGC kicked off it’s Train the Trainer’s Series in Saint Lucia. The Series is also taking place virtually in Montserrat. Train the Trainers is spearheaded by Dr. Keisha Lindsay – a speech and language therapist from Trinidad, and Dr. Kim Gardner – a paediatrician and the director of CDGC. It’s also supported by Mona Gardner-Gordon – a speech and language therapist from Antigua and Barbuda; Monique D. Puckerin – a speech and language therapist and literacy tutor from Trinidad; Aliya Drakes – an occupational therapist from Trinidad; and Zanique Edwards – an occupational therapist from Saint Lucia.

This Series is an ongoing operation that is intended to provide educators with the knowledge and resources to best support children with differing and additional needs in the classroom.

The first meeting in Saint Lucia took place at CDGC’s office. Educators from different Infant and Primary schools, and District Offices around the country were in attendance. A subsequent zoom meeting was held to provide the rest of the information required for the training. All of the information and resources are readily accessible to educators as they work to implement these plans throughout the schools. Following the name of the Series, it is CDGC’s hope that all of the attendees share their knowledge with other educators throughout the schools in order to make it as effective as possible.

In order to ensure the implementation and effectiveness of the program, CDGC will be following up with, and visiting some schools/educators that were in attendance. CDGC will speak with, evaluate and by provide additional support to those who need it.
