Current Team

Dr. Kim Gardner is the Director and Paediatrician of the Child Development and Guidance Centre (CDGC) – since 2009. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the Florida State University, and a Medical Degree from Duke University School of Medicine.

She also holds a Master of Science in Public Health from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill.  She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Paediatrics was well as an American Board-Certified Paediatrician. She completed her Paediatric Residency training at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 2006.

Coletta has been providing Early Intervention at CDGC since 2018.

She has been awarded a BETC General Vocational Qualification in Advanced Level Health and Social Care, and City and Guild Certificate in Social Care Practices.

She began her early intervention work from 2004-2018. Within that time she was a project supervisor for the Roving Caregiver programme, as well as a preschool administrator. She has also done voluntary work as a class assistant at the Special Education Center in Vieux Fort.

Jorja Mederick has been a Therapy Assistant at CDGC since September 2025.

She had also worked as an Administrative Assistant for CDGC in 2024 and 2025. In 2025 she was awarded her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with Honours from Springfield College, U.S. She is a lifelong member of the American Honors Society of Psychology (Psi Chi).

Has been the Occupational therapist at CDGC from September 2025.

Prior to this Zanique has been a special education teacher for 15 years at the Dunnottar School. She holds a Bachelor of science degree in Psychology from the University of the West Indies, Trinidad. She holds a post graduate diploma in Education from the University of the West Indies, Jamaica.

She holds a Masters In Occupational therapy from the University of the Southern Caribbean.

Heralda has been employed at CDGC since August 2021.

She has been certified in DIRFloortime® Therapy since 2022. She also has certifications in early childhood education and child psychology.

Prior to her time at CDGC, she worked as a private aide for 7 years.

Leontina White began her role as a Case Manager at CDGC in January 2024, but has been employed as Administration as well since 2019.

She holds a certificate in social work and is currently pursuing her Bachelors in Social Work with a minor in Youth Development with the University of the West Indies.

She considers herself to be an amiable person.

Sherry-Ann has been an Administrative Assistant at CDGC since September 2025.

She completed her Associate of Science Degree in Biology with Chemistry at the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College. She has a genuine interest in child wellness and the broader healthcare field.

Dimitri Dolor holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Speech and Language Therapy from City, University of London.

Dimitri has been a therapist for over 8 years working within the UK and Caribbean. Dimitri has worked within Mainstream and Specialist School provisions and clinic-based locations supporting both language, social communicating and eating and drinking swallowing difficulties.

Dimitri has been a Therapist at the Child Development and Guidance Centre since October 2025.

Elaine has been the Paediatric Physiotherapist at CDGC since 2013. She also serves as CDGC’s Lead Therapist, and one of the Case Managers. Elaine received her Physiotherapy Diploma from the Liverpool School of Physiotherapy in 1984. She is also a Bobath trained therapist, having completed both the Basic Bobath and Baby Bobath courses.

Previously, she worked as the Physiotherapist for special schools with the ministry of education from 2001-2008. Elaine began her work as a Paediatric Physiotherapist for children under 5 in England from 2008-2013, before coming to CDGC.

Outside of CDGC, she is currently the President of the Physiotherapy Association of St. Lucia. She is also the only Developmental/Paediatric Physiotherapist in St. Lucia, and one of the only ones in the region.

Dr. Shani Venner is a Child Psychiatrist who assists with assessments and projects at the Child Development and Guidance Centre. She also has her own practice providing Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry services in St. Lucia.

She completed her Medical Degree at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Jamaica; her Doctor of Medicine in Psychiatry at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Barbados; and Fellowship (subspecialization) at the Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. Dr. Venner also completed a Master’s in Public Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, in Baltimore, Maryland, United States.

Yasmin serves as the Clinic Administrator/Project Manager of The Child Development and Guidance Centre. She joined the team in 2020, with a career background in hospitality, event management, research and management consulting.

She has earned a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management and a Masters degree in Business Administration, but the most important skills that I use in carrying out my multidisciplinary role at CDGC were honed as a full time mother of two.
