DIRFloortime® is a developmental, relationship-based approach to therapy, often used for children with developmental challenges like Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), that uses interactive play to foster social, emotional, and intellectual growth. It is built on the Developmental, Individual-differences, Relationship-based model, where “Floortime” refers to a specific, hands-on strategy of following the child’s lead in play to create meaningful interactions.
Our Floortime therapy assistant works with children to create a structured play environment that allows them to develop skills such as communication and attention.
Appointments typically take 60 minutes. Generally, appointments consist of:
- Routines
- Work on shared attention in play
- Work on early communication skills
- Sensory play
*Guardian participation is crucial
